Lowery on June 10, 1849 in Fayette County, Illinois. He was born in 1827 in Tennessee; he was 23 years of age when the Fayette County, Illinois 1850 Census was taken. Both Nancy and Isaac died before 1860, at which time their first child, William, and fourth child, Jane, were living with their maternal grandmother, Keziah (Veatch) Harris, and her second husband, John Bowles, in Montgomery County, Illinois. Also, their second child, Keziah, and third child, Martha, were living with their Uncle Mancil Ancil Harris in Christian County, Illinois.

Keziah Elizabeth Lowery5 (Nancy A. Harris4, Ancil M.3, Zach2, Isaac1) was born in February 1852 in Illinois. Her parents died when she was under the age of eight years. She was living with her Uncle Mancil Ancil Harris and wife when the 1860 census of Christian County, Illinois was taken. She married Napoleon B. Lyerla, son of Jacob Lyerla and his first wife, Jane Shenalds, on February 24, 1870, in Montgomery County, Illinois. He was born in 1843 in Montgomery County, Illinois; he was age six years when the Montgomery County 1850 census was taken. He died in 1898. Their daughter, Jennie, married twice. When she married the first time, she reported her parents as N. B. Lyerla and K. E. Lowery. At her second marriage, her parents were listed as Columbus Lyerla and Elizabeth Lowery. Did she report her father's name incorrectly? Or was his name Columbus Napoleon B. Lyerla?

In 1880, the family was living in Irving, Montgomery County, Illinois. Keziah Elizabeth (Lowery) Lyerla was the mother of twelve children, eleven of whom were living when the Montgomery County, Illinois 1900 and 1910 censuses were taken. The family was living in South Litchfield Township in 1900, and in Hillsboro Township in 1910. After her husband's death, Keziah married Charles E. CHILDREN OF NANCY JANE LYERLA AND HUSBANDS
(1)   SLOAN A. GOODNIGHT   (2)   GEORGE R. LEWIS

(Child #2 of Keziah Elizabeth Lowery and Napoleon B. Lyerla)

Nancy Jane "Jennie" Lyerla6 (Keziah E. Lowery5, Nancy A. Harris4, Ancil M.3, Zach2, Isaac1) was born in February, 1873 in Fillmore Township, Montgomery County, Illinois. She married Sloan A. Goodnight, son of William G. Goodnight and Barbara Henhouse or Issenhour on August 7, 1889, Montgomery County, Illinois. (Note: Sloan A. Goodnight, at his previous marriage to Mary F. Kellar, on October 16, 1885, in Montgomery County, Illinois, gave his mother's surname as "Henhouse;" when he married Nancy Jane, his mother's surname was given as "Issenhour"). After her first husband's death, Nancy Jane married George R. Lewis, son of John Lewis and Mary Johnson, on January 1, 1903 in Montgomery County, Illinois. He was born in 1877 at Wilmer, Illinois. In 1900 the census taker in Montgomery County reported that Nancy was the mother of five children of whom four were living. In 1910 she was reported to be the mother of six children with four living; however, there were five children included in the census. Perhaps the record should have been for seven children with five living. (?)
